Let's not beat about the bush, I love food, cooking and kitchen gear. I see kitchen equipment in the same way some women see shoes or handbags.
Some see high heels, low heels, boots, clutch bags, satchels, so on and so forth.
I see Joseph Joseph, Le Creuset, technical gadgets, ceramic knives and the like in the same way. My equivalent of the ultimate handbag - be it Mulberry, Louis Vuitton or whichever to you - is Netherton Foundry Pans and this is my unofficial love letter to those beautiful spun iron pans.

The Netherton Foundry team do not sponsor me or ask me to talk about them because they're far too classy for that. In fact, I don't even have my own Netherton Foundry pan yet because they're on the gift list for our fast approaching wedding but I can't help but go on and on about them.
My love for them comes from the fact that I do use them at Shrewsbury Food Festival. They're heated to screaming hot temperatures, plunged into cold water, have sugar boiled up in them and then get washed at least ten times in around seven hours. At the end of the weekend, they look like you've just taken them out of the box.
When I did my demo with the frying pan and large saucepan, the delicious crust that I managed to get on the chicken was because of how high I could heat the pan without warping. As I also mentioned to the team on the Netherton Foundry stall when saying goodbye at the end of the weekend, they perform like cast iron pans but I can lift them one handed even with a hand that has just come out of a cast.
If all of this wasn't enough, they're a British company making their products locally and based upon the principles of quality and integrity. It's nice to support a small British company whose pans Mr Tam and I joke may just outlast most marriages.
I'll be bringing you a true review - with destruction testing results - in October, after my honeymoon so pop back then for more about perfect pans.

Quick disclaimer: Netherton Foundry really don't have anything to do with this post but out of simple courtesy, I made sure they were happy to let me use some pictures off their website beforehand. In the above collage if it's a good picture, it's from their website. Thanks guys.
