There are some born green fingered, some who learn and others who could set fire to a dead plant by watering it.
I would consider myself in the third category however I set out to recycle some drinks bottles and an old tomato tin because I had some seeds left over from a former attempt at the Good Life when I went to the effort to build raised beds and all sorts before killing everything that went into them.
I took a serrated knife to some old soft drinks bottles, poked some holes in the bottom and even used a plate I dropped while trying to be too clever for some drainage then added compost and the seeds.
So far, nothing is on fire and I'm managing to keep up with the demand for salad from his Lordship who seems to eat tonnes of the stuff and also I've not had to pay extortionate amounts for coriander (which is my own particular weakness).
Not bad for £2 worth of seeds from Lidl, a 99p bag of compost from B&M and some drinks bottles that would have gone for another form of recycling.
Has anyone got any tips on what else is nearly foolproof to grow? All greenfingered advice is gratefully received!
